Wednesday, 19 April 2023, marks an important and historic date for the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) and the Washington SyCip Graduate School of Business (WSGSB) as they signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Manchester Metropolitan University (Manchester Met) for the dual award MSc Financial Technology (FinTech) program.
Arming students with cutting-edge business education centered on emerging technologies shaping the finance industry, the MSc Financial Technology (FinTech) program was designed by Manchester Met to prepare the next generation of leaders in the world of business technology. This collaboration reflects AIM’s commitment to providing its students with a world-class curriculum that breeds innovation and creates impact.
Manchester Met’s Pro Vice Chancellor International, Professor Jenny Watling, expressed her delight with the partnership between AIM and Manchester Met, noting that “We’re proud to be working with an institution recognized for its high-quality business education” and that “This partnership is an exciting development for our business school as we’re celebrating the first dual-award within the faculty.”
This is a sentiment shared by AIM President and Dean, Dr. Jikyeong Kang, who took the opportunity to welcome representatives of Manchester Met and introduce the WSGSB faculty and the AIM executives in attendance. She voiced her excitement about the partnership with Manchester Met and looks forward to welcoming the first cohort when the degree program launches in January 2024.
Driving home the importance of this partnership, the Head of Accounting, Finance, and Banking of Manchester Met’s Faculty of Business and Law, Dr. Anna Egan, notes that the program is “going to provide these future graduates with skills and capabilities that will allow them to succeed in what really is a rapidly changing financial services environment.” WSGSB Head, Dr. Felipe Calderon, CPA, CMA meanwhile is “confident that through our joint efforts and commitment, we will be able to achieve more and continue to develop even stronger relationships.”
In signing the memorandum, Dr. Kang and Prof. Watling cemented AIM and Manchester Met’s partnership and commitment to give MSc Financial Technology (FinTech) students the best education from two renowned business schools on both sides of the globe.
The MSc Financial Technology (FinTech) program is a 24-month, part-time hybrid program that teaches students in-depth knowledge of the newest technologies and business models that currently shape the global financial sector. This program is jointly delivered by AIM and Manchester Met, two AACSB-accredited institutions known for their exceptional academic curriculum and expertise in business education.
