Mr. Hans B. Sicat is President and CEO of The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) since 2011 and was Chairman and Independent Director of the PSE from May 2009 to January 2011. He is also concurrent President and CEO of the Securities Clearing Corporation of the Philippines (SCCP) and non-executive Vice Chairman and Director of LegisPro Corporation, a Knowledge Process Outsourcing firm.
In addition, Mr. Sicat is Independent Director of Serica Balanced Fund and Master Fund (a hedge fund), a Member of the Euromoney Institutional Investor Asia Advisory Board, an Independent Director of the Philippine Dealing System Holdings Corporation and a Board Trustee of the Securities Investors Protection Fund.
With more than two decades of experience as an investment banker, Mr. Sicat worked for Citigroup and its predecessor firms Citicorp and Salomon Brothers in the Philippines, Hong Kong, and New York.
The International Stock Exchange Executives Emeriti (ISEEE) Lennar International Award presented Mr. Sicat the first Stock Exchange Innovation Award in March 2015. He also received the 2014 CEO Excel Award from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines, and was named Asia’s Best CEO (Investor Relations) at the 4th Asian Excellence Recognition Awards 2014, given by Corporate Governance Asia. He was likewise handed the Asian Corporate Director of the Year Award at the 10th Corporate Governance Asia Recognition Awards.
Mr. Sicat finished his coursework for a PhD in Economics at the University of Pennsylvania, and earned his Master of Arts in Economics and Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at the University of the Philippines. Mr. Sicat was also conferred an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration by Western University (Philippines).
