Led by AIM President and Dean Jikyeong Kang, PhD, Professor Felipe Calderon, CPA, CMA, PhD, School Head of the Washington SyCip Graduate School of Business (WSGSB), and Professor Jamil Paolo Francisco, PhD, Academic Program Director of the Executive DBA program, the program’s launch and information session drew a crowd of more than 150, onsite and online.
In an in-depth and engaging breakdown, Dr. Kang explained how the AIM Executive DBA helps leverage executive expertise into a rigorous dissertation that advances one’s field.
The program fosters deep collaboration between seasoned professionals and academics, synergizing their knowledge, analytical tools, and experiences to create real-world solutions. This dynamic exchange deepens their theoretical understanding, equipping them with enhanced critical thinking and research skills for effective analysis, synthesis, and empirical application.
Dr. Kang emphasized the program’s rigor, highlighting the need for unwavering self-motivation and strong supervisor communication. “Unless you are truly passionate and enthusiastic about your research topic, don’t start,” she advised. To thrive, Dr. Kang stressed choosing a supervisor wisely, focusing on intellectual connection and respecting complementary strengths.
The Executive DBA program’s flexible, 36-month part-time hybrid format allows senior managers and C-Suite leaders to continue their career while earning a doctorate. It boasts the Executive DBA Global Alliance, comprising partner schools such as University of Houston - C.T. Bauer College of Business, and LUISS Business School.
