Students from the Asian Institute of Management’s Master of Science in Innovation and Business (MSIB) program put on the mantle of mentorship during the 14th Smart Wireless Engineering Education Program (SWEEP) Awards Bootcamp on 07 March 2018.

During the first day of the SWEEP Awards Bootcamp, the MSIB students sat down with the top 20 teams and discussed the latter’s projects.

Founded in 2003, SWEEP’s goal is the improvement of engineering and IT education in the Philippines through industry-academe partnerships.

“We were able to provide feedback and suggestions that not only involved the technical side of innovation, but also the viability and business side of it too — important matters that we would not be able to learn without the [MSIB] program,” said Nesty Tumabaga, one of the MSIB students who served as mentor during the bootcamp.

MSIB is AIM’s program for STEAM graduates. It took in its first batch of students in 2017, and is part of AIM’s School of Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship (SITE).

“I’m looking forward to building that culture of innovation among the Filipino youth,” said MSIB student Trina Paz. “The rising generation of innovators will be a crucial ingredient for our nation’s growth.”
