MBA 2021 Students Awarded 3rd Runner-up in the MARGA Online Business Competition

Preamble
More than 150+ participants from top international business schools competed over a period of 8 weeks in the recently concluded MARGA Global Business Competition with Asian Institute of Management HIGH Team of MBA 2021 proudly bagging 3rd Runner-Up.

More than 150+ participants from top international business schools competed over a period of 8 weeks in the recently concluded MARGA Global Business Competition with Asian Institute of Management (AIM) HIGH Team of MBA 2021 proudly bagging 3rd Runner-Up.

The task—develop strategies for their own virtual companies and implement these operationally to create the highest company value while taking into consideration various decision points in Marketing (4Ps, improving market shares, diversification strategy, etc.), Operations (optimizing production capacities, offshore sourcing/manufacturing, etc.) and Finance (capital budgeting, working capital management, cost minimization, WACC/ROCE optimization, debt/equity financing, etc.). 

AIM HIGH Team, composed of Emmanuel James Agustin, Alfred Miguel Aguado, Jann Kenneth Antenero, Dannuel Mayye Delizo, Stephanie Ongtenco, and Joash Surio, competed through seven (7) decision-making periods to develop, produce, position, and sell their own products in the simulated virtual market-based competition. Starting strong, the team was consistently in the overall Top 3 in the first four (4) periods of the competition.

The MARGA Online Business Competition Top 4 winners were officially announced during the live Grand Final event held on July 2, 2021 (8:00 PM PST).

1st Runner-up:  Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster (Germany)
2nd Runner-up: Technion - Israel Institute of Management (Israel)
3rd Runner-up: Asian Institute of Management (Philippines)

Apart from winning 3rd runner-up, AIM HIGH Team was also recognized as having one of the best practices in cost management. 

The team acknowledged their AIM Professors, namely, Prof. Felipe Calderon, Prof. John Balce, Prof. Ma. Theresa Mañalac, Prof. Rebecca Ricalde, Prof. Maria Luisa Delayco, and Prof. Sandeep Puri, for providing them with the right concepts and best-in-class learning, thus enabling them to properly navigate through the competition. 

The WSGSB, together with AIM HIGH Team also wish to thank Andreas Nill and Lena Antes of MARGA Business Simulations for guiding students in this worthwhile experience.
