Jamil Paolo S. Francisco
Executive Director
Professor Jamil Paolo S. Francisco, PhD is the Executive Director of the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) Rizalino S. Navarro Policy Center for Competitiveness (RSN PCC). He leads the Center’s research agenda, directed towards competitiveness, competition policy, and industrialization strategy.
He has published in several international peer-review journals including the Singapore Economic Review, the International Journal of Consumer Studies, the Southeast Asian Journal of Economics, the Australasian Journal of Regional Studies, and the Jamba Journal of Disaster Risk Studies.
Prof. Francisco is also part of the faculty roster at AIM. He teaches business and international economics, strategy analysis, and environmental scanning for the Institute’s programs. He obtained both his PhD (2012) and Master’s degree (2006) in Economics from the Ateneo de Manila University. He also earned his Bachelor of Science in Management (2002) from the Ateneo de Manila. In 2014, he completed the GloColl executive program on Participant-Centered Learning at Harvard Business School.
Tristan A. Canare
Program Manager and Senior Economist
Tristan Canare is our Program Manager and Senior Economist. He handles the Center’s research on Small and Medium Enterprises and their role in competitiveness. Previously, he was an Economist with the Center, and worked at the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the Asia-Pacific Policy Center, and the Institute for Econometric and Development Analysis. He also consulted for the Philippine Institute for Development Studies, the Ateneo de Manila School of Government, and the AIM Zuellig Center.
Tristan has authored or co-authored journal articles, book chapters, and working papers on topics such as voting preference, mining, vote buying, impact evaluation, conditional cash transfer, competitiveness, and local government spending, among others. He holds Master’s degrees in Economics and in Development Economics from the University of the Philippines (Diliman) and has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of the Philippines (Los Baños). He is currently taking his Ph.D. in Economics at the Ateneo de Manila University.
Christopher Ed C. Caboverde
Research Associate
Christopher Ed C. Caboverde is a Research Associate whose research portfolio includes shared prosperity, competitiveness, IT-BPO, and technical-vocational education and training.
He was a former administrative assistant of the Public Information Unit under the Office of the Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management. As administrative assistant, he managed the files of the unit, did research work for press releases and briefers, and helped organize events such as press conferences and the Bottom-up Budget (BuB) Summit held in 2015 in Metro Manila, Subic, and Cebu.
He has a Bachelor of Arts Major in Political Science and Minor in Economics (2014) degree from the Ateneo de Davao University.
Rose Ann Camille C. Caliso
Research Associate
Camille Caliso is a Research Associate whose research portfolio includes competition in the Philippine telecommunications industry, crime risk perceptions among Filipino households in the National Capital Region (NCR), competition policy, and Small and Medium Enterprises development.
Prior to her AIM RSN-PCC engagement, she worked as a research assistant and project manager for the various Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and public health projects of the Department of Science and Technology, implemented by the Institute of Philippine Culture of the Ateneo de Manila University. Camille graduated cum laude from the University of the Philippines (Diliman) with a BA in Sociology in 2012.
Joanna Paula P. Titic
Program Coordinator
Anna Titic is our Program Coordinator and acts as the point person for all matters regarding the Center. She handles the day-to-day management and administration of the Center’s policy research, event planning, as well as providing support for and assistance in the Center’s research agenda.
Prior to joining AIM RSN-PCC, she worked as a Department Associate under the Dean’s Office and as a Research Assistant under the Institute's Research and Publications (formerly known as the ORP) unit. She has handled research projects on leadership, co-creation, citizen engagement, global value chains, and healthcare evaluation. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Sciences from the University of the Philippines (Manila).
