Events Manager
DESCRIPTION
The Events Manager leads the planning and execution of events that support the Institute’s marketing, student recruitment, brand, and stakeholder engagement objectives. The person in this role translates overall strategies into compelling event experiences that strengthen brand perception, generate and nurture prospective student interest, support enrollment activities, and deepen engagement with the AIM community.
The Events Manager is responsible for overseeing the event platform and overall experience. They collaborate closely with Student Recruitment, which manages lead generation and conversion strategies; Marketing, which oversees campaign development, content, and communication strategies; and the academic teams, which are responsible for the product/program proposition.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field is required
Minimum Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in marketing, with a focus on events, promotions, and activations. Experience in an events/activations agency is preferred
Event Strategy and Planning
- Develop and manage the Institute’s events calendar in alignment with marketing, enrollment, brand, and stakeholder engagement priorities.
- Translate marketing, recruitment, program, and institutional objectives into appropriate event concepts, formats, and experiences.
- Establish event objectives, target audiences, success measures, timelines, budgets, and execution plans in coordination with different stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Event Leadership
- Serve as the central project manager for events involving Marketing, Recruitment, Academic/Program teams, and other units within AIM.
- Define responsibilities, deliverables, deadlines, and dependencies among participating teams.
- Coordinate with Academic and Program teams as owners of the academic product, ensuring that program content, faculty participation, academic presentations, and program propositions are provided and validated by the appropriate academic owners.
- Escalate gaps, delays, or risks that may compromise event readiness or effectiveness.
Resource Management
- Prepare and manage event budgets and monitor expenditures against approved allocations.
- Prepare briefs for agency partners (if needed), ensuring event requirements and brand guidelines are clear.
- Review outputs for accuracy, quality, and fit.Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies without compromising event quality or experience.
- Maintain a reliable network and database of venues, suppliers, production partners, and other event resources.
Event Performance and Analytics
- Establish event-specific KPIs in collaboration with Marketing, Recruitment, and Academic/Program teams.
- Track metrics such as registration, attendance, attendance rate, participant engagement, satisfaction, cost per attendee, leads generated or engaged, and other relevant measures.
- Conduct post-event evaluations and identify lessons and improvements for subsequent activities.
- Provide regular reports on event performance, expenditure, operational issues, and recommendations.
