MAKATI, Philippines – The October 2024 run of Global Network Week (GNW) brought together MBA students from top business schools around the world for a week of learning, collaboration, and cultural immersion. The Asian Institute of Management (AIM) offered participants a unique opportunity to explore "The NEW Language of Business," focusing on innovative business topics with a global perspective.
Participants from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (India), University of New South Wales Business School (Australia), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Business School (Hong Kong), Yale School of Management (USA), EGADE Business School, Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico), Saïd Business School, and the University of Oxford (UK), engaged in a comprehensive lineup of classroom sessions, community interactions, and a local immersion tour.
Students explored forward-thinking topics, including impact investing, sustainable tourism and finance, while connecting with peers and experts from diverse backgrounds. The program also featured site visits to local companies known for their innovative practices such as the SM Sunrise Weaving Association and Kilyawan Farm Resort, providing participants with a firsthand look at how global business trends are being implemented locally.
The program culminated in Capstone Presentations, where students showcased their case studies on sustainability initiatives. These presentations highlighted real-world examples from both small-scale businesses and large corporations, illustrating positive impacts across various countries, including India, Mexico, the USA, and the Philippines. Each case study emphasized the innovative approaches organizations are adopting to integrate sustainability into their operations, creating ripple effects that extend beyond local communities to global markets.
