AIM Mourns the Passing of Mr. Oscar M. Lopez
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Oscar Lopez, patriarch of the Lopez business empire, and whose family is one of AIM’s most significant benefactors. Mr. Lopez passed away peacefully on April 22, 2023, at the age of 93.
As a well-respected and successful business leader, Mr. Oscar Lopez was pivotal in rebuilding the Lopez business empire after a long exile abroad. His pioneering entrepreneurial spirit, leadership excellence, and dedication to social justice and the environment serve as his legacy as he led First Philippine Holdings Corporation into one of the country’s most diversified conglomerates with interests in power generation, real estate, media, construction, and other industries.
His family’s generosity and contributions to our institute were immeasurable, and his unwavering support enabled us to further our mission of developing leaders and managers for Asian businesses and societies. We will forever be grateful for his visionary leadership and commitment to our cause.
We extend our deepest condolences to the entire Lopez family during this difficult time. Mr. Oscar Lopez’s legacy will continue to inspire us, and his contributions to the AIM community will never be forgotten.
