FBA Supervisor

DESCRIPTION

The FBA Supervisor is responsible for the planning, executing and overseeing of all construction and renovation projects. The role ensures that projects are align with institutional goals and regulatory compliances. 

Education

  • Bachelor’s/College degree in the field of Engineering or Architecture (Licensed) or other related technical background with deep understanding of construction and facilities management. Has completed Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) or Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) Training Program is an advantage. 

Minimum Experience

  • With at least 5 years working experience in construction, project management operation or building maintenance.

BUSINESS UNDERSTANDING

  • Project Management and Building Operations/Maintenance

Safety, Compliance, and Legal Matters 

  • Ensure safety and legal compliance throughout all project phases. Assist in monitoring the contractor’s implementation of safety, sanitation, and security programs. 

Quality Control and Workmanship 

  • Monitor and conduct quality control of the contractor’s workmanship, manpower, equipment requirements, methodologies, and adherence to plans and specifications. 
  • Witness and oversee on-site testing procedures. 
  • Check physical facilities at least once every week for items that need repair or replacement. 

Design Review & Coordination 

  • Review plans, drawings, specifications, and status of Designer and Contractor submittals. 
  • Assist in coordination with Design Consultants on design-related matters such as response to RFIs, approval of submittals, and shop drawings. 

Monitoring 

  • Assist in monitoring the contractor’s delivery and installation of approved materials. 
  • Track deliveries, installation, and control of Owner-Supplied Materials (OSM) 
  • Review and monitor contractor-submitted schedules, recommending adjustments as necessary to suit project conditions. 
  • Assist in evaluating contractor accomplishments and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for progress meetings, billing purposes, and project tracking. 

Cost Estimation & Budget Control 

  • Evaluate, reconcile, and prepare necessary documents and recommendations for contractor billings and change orders. 
  • Prepare cost and quantity estimates for change orders and value engineering works. 
  • Monitor project cost to ensure all expenses remain withing the approved budget. 

Meetings & Coordination 

  • Facilitate and participate in pre-bid meetings, conferences, and clarificatory meetings. 
  • Coordinate with the Owner’s Representatives to solicit and present project requirements and progress updates. 
  • Conduct and attend regular project meetings. 

Document & Reporting 

  • Prepare and provide status reports, presentations, and project documentation. 
  • Contribute to the preparation of the Daily Inspection Activity Report. 

Project Handover & Finalization 

  • Assist in the punch list process, final inspections, commissioning, and project handover. 

General & Administrative Support 

  • Support the Facilities and Building Administrator in general administrative duties related to building and facilities operations. 
  • Undertake any additional responsibilities required to ensure project and operational success.
