Created to mold the next generation of change agents, the Master in Development Management (MDM) program is a rigorous learning journey that sharpens cognitive flexibility, situation management skills, and demystifies complex development goals for impactful leadership. MDM students will be problem solvers, becoming experts in Policy Transformation, Social Entrepreneurship, and Impact-First Investing to create sustainable solutions for developing societies.

Our MDM students will have access to a network of development experts, supporting their chosen industries through investments, policy creation, and product development.

Program Structure*

The Master in Development Management (MDM) program spans 4 terms within 12 months with a pre-program orientation before the first term.

Students may choose between Social Entrepreneurship, Policy & Transformation, and Impact-first Investing for their concentration areas.

Class Type: Hybrid Classes

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
  • At least five years’ work experience, preferably with at least two years’ managerial experience

Program Learning Goals 

These goals outline the knowledge, skills, and abilities that students are expected to develop by the time they graduate. They ensure that the programs of the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) remain both challenging and aligned with the current business landscape.

Program Learning Goal 1:

The Master in Development Management students will be able to demonstrate critical understanding of the foundational theories behind the practice of development management, of specialized knowledge specific to development management, and the interconnections between development management and other fields.

Program Learning Goal 2:

The Master in Development Management students will be able to demonstrate strategic capabilities, specialized problem-solving skills, and organizational skills to co-create scalable solutions to complex development problems that integrate knowledge from different fields.

Program Learning Goal 3:

The Master in Development Management students will be able to take responsibility for contributing to professional knowledge and practice and/or for reviewing the strategic performance of teams, services, programs, and platforms in and through policy implementation, social entrepreneurship, or impact-first investing.

Program Learning Goal 4:

The Master in Development Management students will be able to contribute to the creation of strategic solutions through innovative policy implementation, social entrepreneurship, or impact-first investing.
