AIM Endorses EDCOM 2’s Holistic Vision for Philippine Education

[Makati City, Philippines] – The Asian Institute of Management (AIM) has expressed strong support for the Second Congressional Commission on Education’s (EDCOM 2) Year 2 Report, recognizing its recommendations as essential to driving meaningful progress in the country’s education system.

Dr. Jikyeong Kang, AIM President and Dean, reinforced the Institute’s commitment to this vision, stating:

“AIM is a globally recognized pioneer of management education in Asia. Its mission is to develop transformative leaders through an ecosystem of participant-centered and technology-driven learning, create and disseminate knowledge, partner with academia, government, industry, and communities, and instill mindful and ethical values among its students.

Throughout its history, AIM has been committed to the sustainable growth of Asian businesses and societies by producing professional, entrepreneurial, and socially responsible leaders and managers at the world’s highest standards.

In this regard, AIM truly appreciates EDCOM 2’s comprehensive analysis and recommendations to lift Philippine education to global standards. The Institute fully supports EDCOM 2’s call for educational reforms, especially in priority areas related to equitable access, a curriculum based on universal best practices but anchored on local context, access to technology and data-driven decision-making, community partnerships, and lifelong learning. These align with AIM’s vision and mission, exemplified by its focus and practice.

Adopting policies and providing the resources needed to implement the recommended reforms will result in desirable learning outcomes, empowered teachers, and inclusive access to education. AIM commits to advocating the implementation of EDCOM 2’s recommendations, making education a true partner in nation-building. We look forward to collaborating with all stakeholders to effect transformative reforms in Philippine education.”

Titled “Fixing the Foundations”, EDCOM 2’s Year 2 Report highlights the pressing need for education reform in the Philippines, calling for bold initiatives to improve learning outcomes and better prepare students for the demands of the modern workforce. AIM is committed to leveraging its expertise, resources, and network to help turn these recommendations into reality, shaping an education system where Filipino learners lead, inspire, and transform a brighter future.
