26 Fully Funded Climate Leadership Scholarships Now Open at the Asian Institute of Management

MAKATI CITY, PHILIPPINES – The Climate Change Commission (CCC), the Office of Senator Loren Legarda, and the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) announce that applications are now open for the Sustainable Leadership Learning for Climate and Disaster Risk Reduction (SLL-CDRR) Scholarship Program for Academic Year 2025.

Building on the success of the inaugural cohort, the program has expanded to offer 21 full scholarships for the Executive Master in Disaster Risk and Crisis Management (EMDRCM) program and 5 full scholarships for the Master of Science in Data Science (MSDS) program. This expansion underscores the growing demand for diverse expertise in addressing climate and disaster risks.

The first cohort of SLL-CDRR scholars, comprising 18 EMDRCM students, will complete their studies by December 2025. These pioneering scholars exemplify the program’s vision: cultivating leaders equipped with the knowledge, resilience, and unwavering commitment to drive sustainable transformation within their communities and sectors.

Senator Legarda, a long-standing champion of sustainable leadership, envisioned the SLL-CDRR Scholarship Program to prepare leaders to address the complex challenges of climate change, disaster risk, and national development. This vision perfectly aligns with the core mission of the EMDRCM program at AIM, creating an ideal partnership that develops professionals with both technical expertise and strategic perspective for transformative action across sectors.

Through this, AIM, the CCC, and the Office of Senator Legarda reaffirm their shared commitment to empowering future leaders who can effectively integrate policy, science, and community engagement to build a more resilient Philippines. This year’s inclusion of the Master of Science in Data Science reflects the growing need for informed, data-driven leadership to navigate climate and disaster challenges.

The scholarship specifically seeks applications from Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officers in local and national government units; women spearheading climate adaptation efforts; leaders from indigenous groups; and dedicated sustainability champions serving in government agencies.

Applications are now being accepted. Interested individuals are strongly encouraged to apply and become part of shaping a future where leadership, resilience, and innovation are at the forefront of national progress.
