Become a Climate and Data Science Leader – Final Call for Full Scholarships at the Asian Institute of Management 

Are you a government professional working in climate change, disaster risk reduction, or data science? This is your chance to pursue a fully funded graduate degree at the prestigious Asian Institute of Management (AIM).  
 
The Climate Change Commission (CCC), with support from Senator Loren Legarda and in partnership with AIM, is offering 26 full scholarships for the Executive Master in Disaster Risk and Crisis Management (EMDRCM) and the Master of Science in Data Science (MSDS) programs under the Sustainable Leadership Learning for Climate and Disaster Risk Reduction (SLL-CDRR) scholarship program. 

Eligibility Criteria 

To qualify for the SLL-CDRR scholarship program, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:  

  • National government agencies (NGAs) or local government units (LGUs) with mandates or programs on climate change (CC) and disaster risk reduction (DRR)
  • NGAs or LGUs involved in data collection or management related to CC and DRR. 
  • Other government agencies with CC and DRR programs. 

In addition, each applicant must be employed within the following categories:  

Climate and Disaster Resilience Component 
  • Identified employees of nominating agencies 
  • DRR and Management Officers or Planning and Development Officers in LGUs 
  • Personnel working in climate adaptation, disaster risk reduction, and sustainability in the government sector 
Data Science Component 
  • Identified employees of nominating agencies 
  • Planning and Development Officers or other LGU officers engaged in data science or analytics related to CC and DRR 
  • Personnel working in sustainability and inclusivity in the government sector 
     
How to Apply  

If you meet the qualifications, the CCC will endorse your application to AIM, where you will undergo further evaluation and selection. 

Please submit the following documents to sll.cdrr@climate.gov.ph 

  1. Completed application form  
  1. Policy proposal aligned with CCC policies, program priorities, or thematic areas (not more than 500 words)  
  1. Official nomination letter issued by applicant’s head of agency or their duly authorized representatives, addressed to CCC Vice Chairperson and Executive Director Robert E. A. Borje  
  1. Pro forma certification from Human Resource Office of the nominating agency, certifying the following:  
  1. No pending administrative case  
  1. Not a recipient of a graduate or post-graduate scholarship within two years prior to this application with the SLL-CDRR  
  1. Performance ratings of “Very Satisfactory” (or equivalent) for two consecutive rating periods prior to nomination  
  1. Duly notarized Personal Data Sheet (PDS) and Work Experience Sheet as of date of application/nomination  
  1. Transcript of Records (undergraduate)  
  1. Medical certificate or certification of fitness to study 
  1. Copy of agency/company ID and passport  
  1. Valid NBI Clearance  
  1. Notarized pro forma self-certification stating the following:  

-No ongoing academic scholarship at the start of the program  

-No withdrawal from the degree program without justifiable reasons and prior notice to the AIM, CCC, or the nominating agency
