Asian Institute of Management and Coach Masters Academy Launch Strategic Partnership to Champion Coaching and Leadership Excellence

The Asian Institute of Management (AIM), through its School of Executive Education and Lifelong Learning (SEELL), has entered into a strategic partnership with Coach Masters Academy (CMA), expanding the Institute’s executive education portfolio while advancing leadership excellence through world-class coaching education.

Formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony held at the AIM campus, the partnership brings together two institutions united by a shared belief: that effective leadership today demands not only technical expertise and strategic acumen, but also the ability to coach, empower, and cultivate human potential.

The agreement was signed by Prof. Alberto G. Mateo, Jr., Head of AIM-SEELL, and Atty. Jose Joven Espinosa, AIM Legal Counsel, together with Ben Koh, CMA Position Director, and CMA Education and Country Directors Rosita Poon, Mallini Singh, and Fumiko Watanabe.

As one of Asia’s leading providers of executive education, AIM-SEELL delivers globally benchmarked learning experiences that equip professionals with practical, future-ready skills for leadership and career advancement. Through its collaboration with Coach Masters Academy (CMA)—an internationally recognized provider of coaching education known for its rigorous certification programs and experiential learning approach—AIM-SEELL expands access to globally recognized coaching methodologies, expert faculty, and practical competencies that empower participants to lead with greater impact, foster meaningful growth, and drive transformation within their organizations.

“Lead, inspire, and transform. That is what we do as an academic institution,” said Prof. Mateo. “We partner with organizations to build leaders who can inspire others within their teams and drive transformation at every level—from departments and institutions to communities and society. Perhaps, as these transformations take place, little by little, our beloved Philippines will also be transformed for the better.”

The partnership paves the way for the introduction of coaching certification offerings at AIM, combining the Institute’s legacy of academic excellence with CMA’s proven methodologies to prepare professionals for the evolving demands of leadership.

Following the signing ceremony, participants took part in “The Adaptive Capacity,” an exclusive masterclass facilitated by Ben Koh. Centered on the challenges of leading amid uncertainty and accelerating change, the session invited participants to examine the qualities that distinguish adaptive and effective leaders.

Throughout the discussion, Koh emphasized that while information has become increasingly accessible, understanding remains the true differentiator.

“Information is abundant, but it does not necessarily mean that thinking has gone through that piece of information,” Koh said. “What we need today are leaders who can think and ask better questions—questions that produce not just information, but understanding.”

The masterclass explored the role of reflection, intentional inquiry, and cognitive discipline in strengthening leadership capability. Challenging conventional notions of productivity, Koh encouraged participants to embrace moments of pause as an essential component of long-term growth and resilience.

“Pause is not the opposite of productivity. Pause is not about slowing down. In fact, pause is what is needed for longevity,” he noted. “Pause protects what you want to produce.”

As organizations confront increasingly complex systems and rapidly shifting realities, the partnership between AIM and CMA signals a shared investment in a new generation of leaders—leaders who are not only equipped to make decisions and deliver results, but who can also foster trust, develop others, and create meaningful, lasting impact.

By integrating world-class coaching methodologies into its executive education ecosystem, AIM continues to strengthen its mission of preparing leaders to thrive in an ever-changing world—one conversation, one team, and one transformation at a time.
