AIM and People Management Association of the Philippines Formalize Strategic Partnership to Elevate HR Leadership in the Philippines
The Asian Institute of Management (AIM) and the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement on 29 April 2026 at the SGV Hall, AIM Campus, marking a strategic collaboration aimed at strengthening leadership capability in human resources and advancing enterprise-level people management in the Philippines.
The partnership brings together two institutions with a shared commitment to advancing management excellence, workforce development, and professional growth across the country and the broader ASEAN region. AIM is widely recognized as one of Asia’s leading graduate business schools, while People Management Association of the Philippines serves as the premier professional organization for human resource and people management practitioners, with a strong and dynamic network across industries.

At the heart of the collaboration is a shared ambition to reposition HR leaders from functional specialists to enterprise-level decision-makers who can meaningfully contribute to business strategy, financial performance, and corporate governance. The initiative comes at a time when organizations are navigating increasing complexity, digital disruption, and heightened governance expectations—requiring HR leaders to expand their influence beyond traditional boundaries.
The executive immersion program under this partnership is designed to equip participants with capabilities across strategic thinking, operational excellence, financial acumen, executive leadership, and board governance. It aims to prepare HR professionals to operate confidently at the C-suite and board level.
Participants will be trained to translate business strategy into enterprise-wide human capital advantage, redesign cross-functional systems for performance and scale, and evaluate talent investments through rigorous financial analysis. The program also strengthens executive communication and deepens understanding of governance, risk, and ethical decision-making at the highest level.
Through immersive learning experiences such as strategy simulations, financial labs, operational redesign sprints, analytics workshops, and a culminating boardroom simulation, participants are expected to develop the mindset, tools, and confidence to lead beyond HR silos and shape enterprise direction.

Speaking on the partnership, Prof. Alberto G. Mateo Jr., Head of the Asian Institute of Management School of Executive Education and Lifelong Learning, emphasized the value of aligning the program with the long-standing development of HR professionals in the country. He stated:
“We ensure that this particular program will complement the kind of competencies and capabilities that the association has already built over the past 70 years.”
Both institutions underscored that the partnership reflects a long-term commitment to building future-ready HR leaders who can influence capital allocation, shape organizational strategy, and drive sustainable enterprise performance in the Philippines and across the ASEAN region.
