The session featured Brian Carlo Hipolito, Senior Human Resources Officer at AIIB, who provided a comprehensive deep dive into the foundational mechanics of Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs).

Mr. Hipolito demystified how these institutions function as unique pillars of the global economy, explaining their role in providing financial and technical assistance to sovereign and non-sovereign projects that drive regional growth. By detailing the bank’s operational model, he gave attendees a clear understanding of how AIIB fulfills its mission of financing sustainable “Infrastructure for Tomorrow” from its headquarters in Beijing, China.

Beyond the institutional overview, Hipolito outlined how the cross-disciplinary expertise of our cohorts—spanning management, data science, international business law, and FinTech—directly aligns with the bank’s strategic mission. He mapped out specific trajectories for both emerging talent and seasoned professionals, demonstrating how these specialized industries are critical to driving international finance and sustainable regional development, highlighting the demand for expertise in sectors like energy, digital infrastructure, and urban development. This deep dive allowed participants to visualize how their individual skills in finance, policy, and management could be translated into a career at a premier international organization.

The AIM Career Services Office further enriched the experience by facilitating a networking segment immediately following the presentation. This allowed students and graduates to engage in direct, real-time dialogue with Hipolito, gaining personalized advice on navigating the recruitment process and understanding the culture of working in a multicultural environment. Through this successful collaboration, the AIM-CSO continues to empower the AIM community by opening doors to leadership roles that have a lasting impact on the sustainable development of Asia and the world.
