AIM Undergraduate Team Places Among Top Five at Blue Case Competition 2026

Demonstrating excellence at the intersection of business and technology, Bachelor of Science in Data Science and Business Administration & Bachelor of Business Administration Major in Management Information Systems (BSDSBA & BBA, MIS) students from the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) earned an Honorable Mention at the Blue Case Competition 2026: Mind the Gap, a premier nationwide business case competition.

Behind the notable achievement was the Institute’s Team ABC Frontier, composed of Brandon Zahir D. Rosales, Fernando Mateo L. Fernandez, Antonio Benito S. Bernabe, Nathanael Theodore M. Fenomeno, Tyrese Rome Tan-Gatue, and Janryll Bronn Sy. Emerging from a competitive field of 81 teams and more than 454 participants from institutions across the country, the team advanced through multiple rounds of competition to secure a place among the Top 15 finalists before ultimately finishing among the event’s highest-performing teams.

Organized by the Ateneo Blue Consulting Group, the Blue Case Competition challenges participants to tackle real-world business issues through strategy, innovation, and analytical problem-solving.

This year’s competition, themed Mind the Gap, called on participants to identify critical gaps between organizational challenges and effective business strategies. Developed in partnership with Toyota Valenzuela, the 2026 case centered on declining customer retention in authorized after-sales services amid growing competition from independent repair providers perceived to offer greater affordability and convenience.

Drawing on the interdisciplinary foundation of the BSDSBA & BBA, MIS program, Team ABC Frontier applied analytical rigor and strategic insight to develop innovative, research-driven, and actionable recommendations. The team’s performance reflected the competition’s core criteria of innovation, feasibility, and impact, underscoring its ability to translate data and research into meaningful business solutions.

The competition unfolded through a rigorous, multi-stage process, beginning with the case reveal and workshop, followed by the submission of first-round proposals. ABC Frontier then earned a spot among the Top 15 finalists before advancing to the final rounds held at Singson Hall, Ateneo de Manila University.

During the finals, participating teams were tasked with presenting and defending their recommendations before a panel of judges within a limited timeframe. Team ABC Frontier distinguished itself through the depth of its analysis, the strength of its strategic thinking, and the clarity of its presentation.

Building on this, the team’s achievement highlights the value of an AIM education that equips students to navigate complex business challenges at the nexus of data, technology, and business management. It also reinforces the Institute’s commitment to developing future-ready leaders capable of creating meaningful impact across industries and disciplines.

As societies continue to evolve, achievements such as this reflect the caliber of students nurtured within the academic community of AIM and their readiness to thrive in increasingly dynamic and technology-driven environments.
