MBM 1976 Leaves a Lasting Legacy at AIM with Dedicated Meeting Room

In a heartfelt display of gratitude and commitment, the Master of Business Management (MBM) Cohort of 1976 of the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) has come together to make a meaningful and lasting contribution to their alma mater—a dedicated meeting room designed to support future generations of AIM students.

This initiative, spearheaded by Mr. Felix Tiukinhoy Jr., Chairman and President of Virginia Food, Inc., Batch President of MBM 1976, and current Executive Committee Chairman of the Alumni Association of AIM, Inc., was a result of the cohort’s unified effort.  Their collective contribution reflects a deep appreciation for the transformative education they received at AIM and their shared commitment to giving back to the institution that shaped their personal and professional journeys.

Creating a Space for Mentorship and Innovation

The meeting room now stands not just as a functional space, but as an embodiment of the values of the MBM 1976 cohort and their enduring connection to the Institute.

“We envision the meeting room to be a place for mentorship, collaboration, innovation,” said Mr. Tiukinhoy. “The room will be a hub of energy and encourage dialogue between students, faculty, staff, and integrate theory and practice.”

Through the dedication of this room, the MBM 1976 cohort sets an example of alumni leadership and unity. Their story reflects the lifelong friendships they formed and the AIM values they continue to uphold.

“Even after 50 years, we remain committed to the vision of AIM that creates leaders,” he added. “Our batch motto is ‘walang iwanan’ (no one left behind) so we included everyone. This is primarily both a tribute and a thank you to the institution that shaped our journey along the way.”

Inspiring Generations Through Alumni-Led Impact

During the unveiling of the commemorative plaque, AIM President and Dean Jikyeong Kang, PhD, expressed her appreciation for the cohort’s generosity and commitment to leadership.  “This is the second batch of alumni, since MBM 1973, that has given back to AIM,” she shared. “Our Institute is strong if our alumni are strong.”

The AIM MBM 1976 legacy project is more than a physical space—it is a call to action. It invites other alumni to reconnect, reflect on their own AIM journey, and empower the next generation of business and development leaders.

With leadership, heart, and purpose, the class has transformed a room into a legacy – one that embodies the Institute’s mission: to empower leaders who make a difference.
